What Services do You Provide?
How Long Have You Been in Business? We've provided authoring, publishing, and computer support services since 1984. Internet services were provided starting in 1993. Mapping services began in 1989. For What Geographic Areas Do You Provide Services? For web design services we focus primarily on the Portland Metro area - this includes all of the four counties. In Oregon this would be Clackamas (where we are based), Multnomah, Washington, and (in the state of Washington), Clark county. We can provide hosting and web site analysis for sites for sites in any geographic area.. If you want your web site working harder, we can do the analysis for you from our base in Tualatin, Oregon. We can do search engine optimization for any sites in the United States. If you want to do it yourself, you can purchase our e-Book. Or you can combine the strategies. Purchase the book and do the manual work yourself, then contract us to use our tools to give you the critical reports for the work. If you need international SEO services, we suggest that you purchase our e-Book and work with your country-specific search engines. The strategy is the same. If I want your help with a web site, do I need to use your host? No - we work with many hosts. We can, however, provide hosting and often suggest this for a client for several reasons. We are a reseller for hosting sites that is very reliable and can provide many extra services. For example, if you need a form on your site the support software for this is already in place. To put a form in a web site on another hosting service is probably going to cost you extra. Our hosting service also provides a free blog, monitoring, SQL databases, and more at no extra cost. What is unique about your services? Look at our motto - Building Web Sites that Work. To a client running for business manager of a union, we provided a polling service with his web site so the union members could give him feedback on issues. He won the election. To a client selling a farm, we used a simple site with lots of pictures. We put the work into positioning the site in the search engines and choose a very simple site design. They sold the farm. We can help you define what you want your web site to do and make it do that. Here are some more result examples. Can you do blogs on a site? Yes. A blog is a web log. You can use it to provide dynamic information on your company - your conferences, exhibitions, new products, and other news. Blogs were used in the last election to expose false documents on Bush's military service and tell us where Kerry really was that Christmas Eve during the Viet Nam war. At the present time we provide a blog service free of charge with our hosting service. There are over 19 million blogs out there now. Freedom of the press belongs to whoever owns one. The press is free now. What does it cost to develop a web site for my business? This is a very common question. It really depends on that you want to accomplish and what resources you have to commit. You need to budget about $142 for hosting for the first year if you host with us. There is an additional $30 setup charge. This price includes a free domain name. For a short-term web site (such as the site for someone running for office over a few months), hosting is $20 a month with a $30 setup fee. To develop and design a small web site of 5-6 pages, figure about $1500 - $2000 if we use no special graphic design or animation. Flash animatin would be extra. To get some search engine positioning work, we charge $300 for basic search engine optimization for your site. We STRONGLY suggest this if you expect most of your traffic from the search engines. We do not promise a top position in the search engine. Google will tell you no one can do this. In fact, at the current time it takes about 6-8 months to get any quality position for a web site in Google. We can do good positioning in Yahoos, MSN, and other engines in about a month. We can also help you purchase advertising in the search engines if you wish. Any competitor telling you something else doesn't know how to do positioning or is not being honest. (We can tell you why if you wish.) Why not mail your free newsletter directly instead of emailing a notice it has been updated? Your newsletter has many words that could trip the spam filter on your system. Doing the newsletter as a page on our site and pointing you to it prevents it getting caught in your spam filter. We do email you a notice when the newsletter is updated if you "subscribe". How often is the e-Book you sell updated? Approximately monthly we do a minor update that has minimal affect on paging. The major changes are mentioned in the monthly newsletter and our blog. Major revisions are about every six months now. How do I get started with my web site? Give us a call at (503) 697-4773) and let's get started. Go ahead and order the e-Book if you want to know how the search engines work. ![]() All Rights Reserved Copyright 2006, Oregon Professional Microsystems (503) 697-4773 or (503) 952-6045 |
